For High Performance
computing to be achieved cost effectively, a cluster
of workstations are used. C-DAC over the past decade
has developed hardware systems to deliver high performance
parallel computer systems. The first generation systems
were based on an array of nodes designed using Transputers.
Subsequent generation systems were designed to take
advantage of the advances made by hardware technology
worldwide. The current generation of parallel systems
uses a cluster of off-the-shelf workstations interconnected,
using high performance communication and switching technology
developed by C-DAC. This technology is supported by
associated firmware and device drivers necessary for
the integration of the hardware with the system software. |
