Strategic Electronics Systems
Acoustic and Ultrasonic: This important technology finds applications in many different areas like non-destructive testing, underwater surveillance, Health care and Agriculture. C-DAC has developed many systems of strategic importance for ISRO, Army and Navy in this area.
Underwater Technology: Activities in this area include development of small autonomous underwater vehicles which can be used for surveillance and inspection. This may be used with different payloads like camera or miniature sonar depending upon the application. Development of underwater sensors to collect data on noise, wake, magnetic signatures, electric field created, etc. of ships, is another important area of research. These data can be used by Shipbuilders to make ships and submarines stealthier and for development of weapons against enemy ships.
