Workshop on Urban Air Quality Management and Training on UrbAirIndia

November 07-08,2022 | Hotel Tip Top International, Hinjewadi, Pune-57

PolutionUnder the aegis of the "Urban Integrated environment modeling and service," a National Supercomputing Mission consortia program of GoI, CPCB and C-DAC are organizing a two-day workshop on Urban Air Quality Management and hands-on training on 'UrbAirIndia' a decision making tool. This meeting will bring together experts from regulatory agencies (CPCB/SPCB), researchers from IoRs, policy-makers, and local administrators, to discuss the data and science needs of cities for National Clean Air Program (NCAP).

About UrbAirIndia

C-DAC in collaboration with CPCB has developed a decision response system "UrbAirIndia", for Indian Urban Air Quality Management. UrbAirIndia is an integrated web based GIS-enabled system with air quality management components, viz., pollution monitoring, emission inventory, dispersion modelling, receptor modelling, and pollution scenario analysis. UrbAirIndia is a multi-user decision system enabling cross-sector co-ordination between pollution control boards, researchers from IORs, local government bodies, and policy makers. It facilitates air quality information dissemination to citizens.

NSM Urban Integrated Environment

C-DAC in collaboration with IITM, Pune, IISc, Bangalore and IIT Bhubaneswar is executing Urban Integrated Environment modeling and services consortia program. It has "multi-sectorial simulation lab & a state-of-art decision support system (DSS) to address extreme urban environmental issues". The integrated NSM Urban Environment science to society (UES2S) cyber-infrastructure and 'UrbAirIndia' has science and services cloud platform enabling cross-sector weather, air quality, and hydrology models, emission inventory, source apportionment, and data communications.
