Overview


The Diploma in Advanced Software Development Methodologies (DASDM) course is targeted towards students who wish to venture into the domain of computing. The DASDM course aims to groom the students to enable them to work on current technology scenarios as well as prepare them to keep pace with the changing face of technology and the requirements of the growing IT industry. After the completion of the course, students can work as Software Developer or Programmer / IT Support staff/ Trainee / Tester / Technical Support in any IT industry and associated service sectors.

Course Duration:
The DASDM course is of Nine months duration (6 months training + 3 months internship) with the course syllabus being distributed in four terms.
Eligibility:
Minimum eligibility criteria to appear for admission to DASDM course is as follows:
  • Graduates in Science (eg. BCA or B.Sc. in Computer Science, IT and Electronics etc)
  • Graduates in Mathematics or allied areas (e.g. Statistics, Applied Math)
  • Graduates in Physics or Computational Sciences / Graduates in Computing
  • The candidates must have secured a minimum of agregate 50% marks in their qualifying examination
Course Pre-requisites: Sound knowledge of Computing Fundamentals and Fundamentals of Programming.

Candidates who have appeared for the final examination of their qualifying degree in 2016 will also be considered for admission to the above courses. By qualifying in C-DAC's Common Admission Test (CET) of Feb 2017, these candidates can apply for provisional admission subject to the condition that:

(a)All parts of their qualifying degree examination shall be completed by the date of joining the course, and
(b) Proof of having passed the qualifying degree with at least the required minimum marks shall be submitted at C-DAC by 30th April 2017.


Important Note:Candidates are required to ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria of the courses for which they are applying. In case a candidate is found to be not eligible during any stage of the admission process or course delivery, his/her admission will be cancelled with immediate effect and he/she will not be able to attend any further classes.
Course Fee:
The total course fees of DASDM course is Rs. 80,000/- plus taxes extra as applicable by Government of India.
The fees of DASDM course is to be paid in four installments as provided in the table below:

The student has to pay the admission fees and Tuition fees using online payment gateway through Debit or credit cards or internet banking.

The course fee includes the cost of course delivery, computer lab usage, examinations, final mark-list, certificate and placement assistance provided at the training centre. Candidates may take note that no cheque or cash or DD will be accepted towards payment of any installment of fees.

The Admission fees and Tuition fees once paid shall not be refunded in any circumstances.

Important Note: : Service tax as applicable in Februrary 2017 will be calculated on the total fees of Rs. 80,000/-. Service tax in December 2016 is 14% Swaccha Bharat cess 0.5% and Agriculture Cess 0.5%.


The DASDM course highlights include such as

  • Course is designed and developed in consultation with the domain experts of C-DAC, academia and ICT industry
  • The course syllabus is regularly updated with the latest trends in the ICT industry.
  • The expert faculty members from C-DAC and ICT industry with extensive domain knowledge shall conduct the lectures.
  • Training centres are well equipped with laboratory.
  • The Tutorials and hands-on sessions are relevant to the standards of the ICT industry.
  • Students are provided Placement assistance and region-wise common campus placements.
  • Periodic Corporate / industry interaction will be conducted.
  • The students have to undertake a live project either at the C-DAC training centres or in the IT industry / IT organisation during the fourth trimester.
  • Management Development Programme MDP is an integral part of the syllabus for personality development of the students.

The application fees of Rs.600/- (Rupees Six Hundred only) is to be paid through online payment gateway using the credit card or debit card or internet banking.

The application fees once paid shall not be refunded in any circumstances.

The admission to the DASDM course is through a Common Entrance Test (CET). The syllabus of the CET comprises of the following:

Computing Awareness (40 questions)

Evolutions of computers, Computer generations, Computer organization, Primary and Secondary storage, Input-output devices, Computer software, Operating systems, Data communications and computer networking, Multimedia, Classification of computers, Algorithms, Flow charts, Fundamentals of Programming, Utility Software, Computer Security, etc.


Functional English (20 questions)

Mathematical Aptitude (20 questions)

Reasoning (20 questions)

The Admit cards can be downloaded from the website. The admit cards can be downloaded from the website on 1st February, 2017. The candidates will not be able to download the Admit Cards, if their payment have not been received at the C-DAC training Centre. No candidate will be permitted to appear in CET test without a valid Admit Card. The Admit Card should be presented to the invigilators/ officials for verification.

The result of the CET will be published centre wise. Students will be only eligible to take admission in the centre where he has applied at the time of filling the application form. The Candidate will be ranked based on the score he / she have secured in CET.
