I would like to express my gratitude to the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) for reposing confidence in me and assigning the role of Director General of Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC). I feel honoured by this decision and would endeavour to carry on the vigour and vitality of my celebrated predecessors. I believe every achievement and success is a result of synergetic efforts of members of the organization. For making remarkable contributions, one needs to be passionate and it is imperative to function out of comfort zones.
The nation is going through digital transformation revolution. The technological progression has redefined the way we live and realise our aspirations. Path breaking scientific innovations have paved way for mired technological avenues.
India’s dire need for a High-Performance Computing technology led to the creation of C-DAC and since then we have been at the forefront in responding to critical National Missions such as National Supercomputing Mission, Microprocessor Development Programme, Strategic Electronics, Artificial Intelligence, NLP, Cyber Security and Cyber Forensics, Quantum Computing, Unified Blockchain Framework, National Digital Health Mission, Smart City Solutions, development of next generation applications for Agri and education to name a few.. Ministry of Electronics and Information technology has announced the Design Linked Incentive (DLI) Scheme to strengthen the semiconductor chip design ecosystem in the country and C-DAC is playing a key role towards the implementation of the DLI Scheme as Nodal Agency.
C-DAC with its focus in Advanced Computing is uniquely positioned to establish dependable and secure Exascale Ecosystem offering services in various domains. C-DAC has crafted its strategic practical roadmap keeping in perspective the paradigm shift in the global technological ecosystem and ever-dynamic area of national ICT scenario.
C-DAC will play a pivotal role in harnessing opportunities and nurturing talents through collaborative R&D. Being an Applied R&D lab, C-DAC will be the catalyst in transforming distinctive innovative outcome from “Lab to Land” by collaborating with industry partners conforming to our aspirations to evolve models for “Research to Revenue” initiatives. Thus, we focus on our goal to make India move from Service Economy to Knowledge Economy.
C-DAC continues to be the nursery for human growth and social development. This is envisaged to be realized through National and International collaboration with Researchers, Academia, MSME, Industry and Start-Ups, so that India will emerge as a Leader. Thereby C-DAC continues to resonate with Government of India’s vision of AtmaNirbhar Bharat and Digital India, while preserving India’s competence and capability in the advanced High-performance Computing technologies & solutions to ensure human advancement.
