Under IndiaAI, an initiative of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, the two-day workshop on "Future-Ready Policing: Role of AI & ML in Modern Law Enforcement" was held on September 9th-10th,2025 at the Economic Offences Unit (EOU), Bihar in collaboration with C-DAC Patna. The inaugural session was graced by the presence of Shri. Sanjay Kumar, IPS, DIG Cyber, EOU Patna, Bihar Police, Dr. Manavjit Singh Dhillon, IPS, DIG EOU Patna, Bihar Police and Shri. Abhinav Dixit, Director, C-DAC Patna, marking the beginning of an important capacity-building initiative for Bihar Police officials.
Over the course of two days, the workshop trained Bihar Police officials through focused technical sessions and practical demonstrations delivered by scientists from C-DAC Patna. The sessions highlighted critical applications of AI & ML in law enforcement and aligned with the vision of IndiaAI, to democratize AI for social good, foster innovation, and build skilled human resources. The workshop served as a practical step in integrating AI-driven solutions into policing while promoting ethical, responsible, and effective use of technology in public safety and cybersecurity.
The programme emphasized hands-on exposure, enabling participants to directly engage with tools and technologies relevant to real-world law enforcement scenarios.
This capacity-building initiative has significantly enhanced the digital intelligence and investigative skills of Bihar Police officials, preparing them to adopt future-ready approaches for evidence-based decision-making, faster investigations, and more efficient tackling of emerging challenges in cybercrime and modern policing.
The workshop marks another step forward in the collaborative efforts of EOU Bihar and C-DAC Patna to build a secure, technology-driven, and proactive law enforcement ecosystem for the state.
