As part of its continued commitment to strengthening cybersecurity governance and building a resilient digital ecosystem, C-DAC Patna, and Department of Information Technology (DIT), Government of Bihar, successfully organized the workshop on Strengthening Cyber Security Framework for State Data and Training of Departmental Information Security Officers (DISOs) on June 23rd, 2026.
The workshop was inaugurated by Shri Arvind Kumar Choudhary, ITS, Special Secretary, DIT, Government of Bihar; Shri Abhinav Dixit, Scientist G & Centre Head, C-DAC Patna; and Dr. Shailesh Shrivastava, Scientist G & State Informatics Officer (SIO), Bihar, who emphasized the importance of robust cybersecurity governance, institutional preparedness, and continuous capacity building to secure the State's digital infrastructure.
The programme was further enriched by the presence and insightful deliberations of Shri Abhay Kumar Singh, IAS, Secretary-cum-Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), Government of Bihar; Dr. Nitin Puri, Executive Director, NIELIT Patna; and Prof. (Dr.) Faizan Mustafa, Vice Chancellor, Chanakya National Law University (CNLU). Their addresses highlighted the growing need for collaborative cybersecurity governance, policy alignment, legal compliance, and skilled human resources to effectively address emerging cyber threats.
Technical sessions led by Dr. Kunal Abhishek, Scientist E, C-DAC Patna, and Shri Prabhat Kumar, Senior Consultant, DIT, Government of Bihar, focused on key aspects of cybersecurity governance, Zero Trust Architecture, cyber risk management, incident response, and the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023, enhancing the capacity of DISOs to strengthen cybersecurity across Government of Bihar departments.
Experts from C-DAC Patna, along with officials from DIT, Government of Bihar, conducted comprehensive technical sessions on cybersecurity governance, Zero Trust Architecture, cyber risk management, incident response, security best practices, and compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023. The sessions were designed to equip Departmental Information Security Officers (DISOs) with the knowledge and practical strategies required to strengthen cybersecurity frameworks across their respective departments.
The workshop witnessed active participation from DISOs representing various Government of Bihar departments, fostering meaningful discussions, exchange of best practices, and collaborative deliberations on strengthening the State's cyber resilience.
Through this initiative, C-DAC Patna reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Government of Bihar in building a secure, resilient, and future-ready digital governance ecosystem through continuous capacity building, knowledge sharing, and collaborative cybersecurity initiatives.
