Bombay Science Librarians' Association (BOSLA) in collaboration with the Library of C-DAC Mumbai organized a National Seminar on �Empowering Open Science: The Evolving Role of Library and Information Science Professionals" on the National Librarians' Day, marking Dr. S. R. Ranganathan's birth anniversary.
Under the patronage of Shri. Aditya Kumar Sinha, Executive Director, C-DAC Mumbai, the event featured talks by experts including Dr. Dharmraj Veer, former Director, Knowledge Resource Centre, BAMU, Dr. Suresh Jange, Librarian, Gulbarga University, and Dr. Vrushali Rane, Deputy Librarian, SNDT Women's University. BOSLA Chairman Dr. Subhash Chavan emphasized BOSLA's role in advancing library services and professional standards since 1975. Shri. Ram Singh Bairwa, Organising Secretary & Librarian, C-DAC Mumbai delivered the welcome address and vote of thanks.
The BOSLA Awards 2025 (announced by Dr. Dattatraya Kalbande, General Secretary -BOSLA) honoured Dr. Shahaji Waghmode with the Best Librarian Award and Dr. Chaitnya Veer with the Young Librarian Award.
The seminar concluded with a call for Library & Information Science professionals to strengthen India's Open Science movement.
