Driving Maritime Digital Transformation

On August 26th, 2025, Shri. Aditya Kumar Sinha, Executive Director, C-DAC Mumbai & CEO, Maritime Digital Centre of Excellence, along with Commodore Sandeep Wadhwa (Retd.), Executive Director, Corporate & Government Business, C-DAC, visited the LRIT (Long-Range Identification & Tracking) National Data Centre, Mumbai. They were accompanied by Shri. Nipun Pandey, Dr. Shreya Bokare, Shri. Amol Suroshe, Shri. Anupam Saxena, Shri. Nikhil Singh Rajput, and the LRIT operations team from C-DAC Mumbai.

They were welcomed by Capt. Harinder Singh (NS cum DDG Tech, HOD LRIT/DGCOMMCENTRE, LRIT Principal Coordinator Indian LRIT NDC, DGS-Mumbai), Capt. Porus Disawalla (In-charge MMDAC-LRIT/DGCOMMCENTRE-Nav Bhavan-Mumbai), LRIT Radio Officers Shri. Norbert Fernandes and Shri. Sunil Kumar MK, and DGCOMM Radio Officers Shri. Anil Kumar and Shri. Aleti Gurumurthy.

Senior officials from DG Shipping (DGS) and C-DAC discussed the strategic need of the hour in order to enhance the safety, security and efficiency in maritime operations. The Research & Technology team of C-DAC will work closely with DGS and Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW) offices to identify, prioritize and rollout potential application of emerging technologies and Artificial Intelligence to enhance the capabilities including predictive analytics, anomaly detection, and intelligent vessel behavior monitoring. Strong focus was laid on the opportunities emerging from the Digital Centre of Excellence in Maritime, being set up by C-DAC for MoPSW in Mumbai.

ED, C-DAC Mumbai, also interacted with the C-DAC staff members posted at the National Data Centre to support 24x7 LRIT operations to understand the challenges faced by them while performing their duties and appreciated their efforts.
