Digital Pathways for Smart Ports

Shri. Aditya Kumar Sinha, Executive Director, C-DAC Mumbai and CEO, Maritime Digital Centre of Excellence, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW), Government of India, participated as an invited panelist in a discussion on "Digital Pathways for Smart Ports" Leveraging IT & E-Governance for Maritime Excellence" during a roadshow organized in Bhubaneswar.

The roadshow, themed "Navigating the Shift of Indian Maritime Sector: From Volume to Vision," was hosted by Paradip Port Authority in association with MoPSW as a precursor to India Maritime Week (IMW) 2025.

The event brought together senior government officials, policymakers, and industry leaders. Distinguished attendees included Odisha Industries Minister Shri. Sampad Chandra Swain, Jagatsinghpur MP Shri. Bibhu Prasad Tarai, Additional Chief Secretary (Industries) Shri. Hemant Sharma, and Principal Secretary (Commerce & Transport) Smt. Usha Padhee.

Speaking at the panel, Shri. Sinha emphasized the transformative potential of digitalization, advanced IT systems, and e-governance in strengthening operational efficiency, transparency, and the global competitiveness of India's ports. He noted that these initiatives are in line with the nation's vision of building a technology-driven maritime sector as highlighted in Maritime India Vision 2030 and Maritime Amritkal Vision 2047.Shri. Sinha stressed upon the importance of discovery-driven digital transformation and business model innovation, and expressed his vision for the establishment of a dedicated Maritime AI Mission. He further stressed the need to develop continuous learning ecosystems to ensure an adaptive and future-ready workforce in the maritime sector.
