Empowering Myanmars Cyber Security Ecosystem

C-DAC Delhi successfully conducted the 2nd Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Cyber Security at the India–Myanmar Centre for Enhancement of IT Skills (IMCEITS), University of Information Technology (UIT), Yangon, Myanmar from 04th to 08th, May 2026 under the ongoing India–Myanmar ICT capacity building cooperation initiative supported by the Government of India.

The programme was organized under the extension of IMCEITS as an Authorized Training Centre (ATC) of C-DAC, pursuant to the agreement signed between the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India, and C-DAC on March 04th, 2025. The Faculty Development Programme (FDP) was delivered by Shri Jaibheem Gaikwad, Project Manager, ICD, C-DAC Delhi.

A total of 80 participants from 9 leading universities and institutions across Myanmar benefited from the five-day intensive training programme.The FDP focused on strengthening practical and advanced cyber security knowledge among faculty members and IT professionals through hands-on sessions and demonstrations. The major topics covered during the programme included:

The programme concluded successfully and received positive feedback from participants, faculty members, and institutional representatives. During the visit, discussions were held with H. E. Abhay Thakur, Ambassador of India to Myanmar, on the overall progress of the FDP, participant feedback, and potential avenues for future collaboration. The interaction underscored the programme's positive impact in strengthening cyber security awareness and enhancing technical competencies among academic institutions and professionals in Myanmar.

The successful completion of the FDP has further strengthened the visibility and outreach of C-DAC's international training initiatives and opened avenues for conducting advanced programmes in Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, and other emerging technology domains in the future.
