In a significant step towards strengthening healthcare delivery in Sikkim, the Health and Family Welfare Department (H&FWD), Government of Sikkim, under the National Health Mission (NHM), has entered into a Service Agreement with the C-DAC.
The agreement was formally signed between Health & Family Welfare Department and C-DAC, who shared their vision for the initiative. Both the organizations emphasized that the implementation of e-Aushadhi would not only streamline drug and vaccine distribution but also enhance transparency, efficiency, and accessibility in the state's public health system.
Signed in the gracious presence of Shri. Tshewang Gyachho (IAS and Secretary, H&FWD), Shri. Jitesh Choudhary Scientist Eand Centre Head, C-DAC CINE, Shri. Yengkhom Ranjan Singh Scientist E and Joint Director, C-DAC CINE), and Shri. Shamshad Ansari Scientist E, C-DAC Noida, this agreement marks the formal commencement of the implementation of the Drugs and Vaccine Distribution Management System (DVDMS), popularly known as "e-Aushadhi", in the state. The initiative aims to ensure efficient management, monitoring, and distribution of drugs and vaccines across government healthcare facilities in Sikkim.
Under this contractual framework, C-DAC will roll out the DVDMS application in consultation with the H&FW Department, ensuring smoother healthcare supply chain management for the state.
Officials expressed optimism that the collaboration will greatly enhance healthcare service delivery, reduce wastage, and ensure timely availability of essential medicines and vaccines to the people of Sikkim.
This collaboration stands as a shining example of how technology-driven governance can empower healthcare systems, setting a benchmark for other states to follow.
