C-DAC Mumbai had the privilegeof hosting Shri. E. Magesh, Director General, C-DAC, on September19th, 2025. Shri. Aditya Kumar Sinha, Executive Director, C-DAC Mumbai, together with the technical and administrative staff, extended a warm welcome and felicitated the Director General. Shri. Abhinav Dixit, Centre Head, C-DAC Patna, also graced the occasion and participated in various activities organised by C-DAC Mumbai. We also had the pleasure of welcoming dignitaries from organizations associated with C-DAC Mumbai.
DG Shri. E. Magesh encouraged the Mumbai centre to align and work closely with all C-DAC centres. He explained how C-DAC is contributing to the nation's self-reliance by venturing into indigenous chip design, board design, and storage design. He then presented C-DAC's indigenous supercomputing capabilities and core technology areas. He presented advancements, including PARAM Rudra, AIRAWAT PSAI, PARAM Siddhi AI, and indigenous developments such as the Rudra series of servers, Trinetra HPC network, System Software Stack, Storage solutions, and India's own CPU (AUM) DIR-V. He also spoke on the VEGA processor ecosystem, along with initiatives in e-Governance and Emerging Technologies.
Shri. Aditya Kumar Sinha, Executive Director, shared insights on C-DAC Mumbai's initiatives and highlighted the newly set up Centre for Indic Wisdom and Applied Technology, which aims to build a knowledge-driven ecosystem where Indic wisdom, applied through technology, fosters breakthroughs that advance humanity while upholding cultural depth and ethical values.
Director General launched four key initiatives-OLabs Hindi, SATYA, npdAI, and Indian Knowledge Systems - marking a significant step in advancing digital India.:
- OLabs Hindi aims to expand online laboratories for Hindi medium schools, enabling students to conduct interactive 2D/3D and AR/VR experiments beyond the limits of physical labs.
- npdAIstrengthens India's cyber safety by detecting unsafe image and video content through indigenous AI models, ensuring self-reliance in content moderation.
- SATYA empowers developers and testers with AI-driven accessibility testing tools to create inclusive applications compliant with Indian and global standards.
- Indian Knowledge Systems initiative brings civilizational wisdom into modern contexts, curating Indic knowledge for contributions in AI, quantum computing, digital health,sustainability, and education through interdisciplinary labs.
Together, these initiatives reinforce C-DAC's mission of inclusive, secure, and knowledge-driven digital transformation for the nation.
As part of the event, the following stalls/labs were exhibited:
- Educational technology showcasing OLabs, Parikshak, OBRIC, SAFAL, and KVIZZ.
- Artificial Intelligence and Robotics with demonstrations included npdAI, Upasthiti, SamvadAI, LSAIT, wheel-based humanoid robot, and drone-based surveillance system.
- Digital Governance displaying Anonshield, e-Pramaan, Revival, NBF, ADV, and Mobile Seva ECGC, which received encouraging feedback.
- Maritime DigitalCentre of Excellence (MDCoE) with displays of B-SID (Biometric Seafarer Identity Document), LRIT (Long Range Identification & Tracking), and Estate Operations & Management.
All senior officials of C-DAC Mumbai attended the event, including Dr. Padmaja Joshi, Scientist G & PS&O Head (Corporate),Dr. Johnson, Scientist G, and Ms. Veena Tyagi, Scientist G.Shri. Peeyush Chomal, Scientist F & Sr. OSD to ED, served as the chief coordinator of the event along with. Ms. Sonal Kamal, OSD to ED.Ms. Cini Radhakrishnan and Ms. Shilpa Oswal skilfully anchored the event.
