In a significant step towards advancing India's quantum technology capabilities under the National Quantum Mission (NQM), C-DAC Delhi and KIET Deemed to Be University, Ghaziabad, jointly inaugurated a state-of-the-art Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Quantum Computing on June 4th, 2026.
The Centre of Excellence has been established under the strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between C-DAC Delhi and KIET University and is envisioned as a vibrant ecosystem for advanced research, innovation, skill development, and academic excellence in the emerging field of quantum technologies.
The initiative was accomplished under the vision, guidance, and continuous encouragement of Shri Arvind Kumar, Senior Advisor, along with the valuable support of Dr. Asvija B., Scientist F and Mission Director, Quantum Technologies, C-DAC Bengaluru, whose recommendation and assistance were instrumental in the successful realization of the project.
The inauguration took place during the conclave titled “Shaping Tomorrow: Industry and International Partnerships”, which witnessed the participation of distinguished leaders from academia, industry, and research organizations. The event was attended by eminent representatives from KIET University, C-DAC, industry, and academic institutions.
The recently established Centre of Excellence (CoE) will offer students, researchers, and faculty members access to advanced quantum computing resources along with specialized training opportunities. The key features of the facility include:
- Next-Generation Simulation Environments: Hands-on exposure to advanced quantum computing platforms on C-DAC’s Qniverse.
- Alignment with the National Quantum Mission: Development of a future-ready workforce equipped with skills essential for India's technological self-reliance.
- Advanced Computing Research: Promotion of learning and innovation in quantum architectures, algorithms, parallel processing, and emerging computational paradigms.
- Dual-Track Learning Opportunities: Support for KIET University's newly introduced industry-integrated Quantum Computing learning pathway.
The establishment of the CoE reflects C-DAC Delhi's continued commitment to fostering collaboration between academia and research institutions. As a premier R&D organization under the MeitY, C-DAC has been actively working to bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and academic learning.
With this initiative, C-DAC and KIET University have reinforced their commitment to building a robust quantum ecosystem that will help shape India's digital and technological future.
