Neuro-Cognitive AI Group, C-DAC Delhi successfully hosted the Visual Brainathon 2025, a national-level competition held under the theme "Pahchaan: The Behavioural World Through My Eyes." The vision behind Visual Brainathon 2025 was to nurture creativity and innovation among young students by providing them with a national platform to apply technology in meaningful, visually expressive ways. The activity was carried out under the MeitY funded project "Cyber-Forensic Framework for User-Centric Human Threat Intelligence Analysis".
Shri. Jitendra Singh, Scientist G &Center Head, C-DAC Delhi, has spearheaded the event's vision for the proliferation of niche-area technologies being developed at C-DAC Delhi. Dr. Priyanka Jain, Scientist F & Head, Neuro-Cognitive AI & XR Group, led the activity to inspire young researchers to expand their vision beyond borders. Shri.Harsh Koria, Project Engineer, and Shri. Girish Sursakar, Project Engineer, coordinated the smooth functioning of the event with dedicated support from the organizing team, ensuring its successful execution.
The competition invited students from Classes 10 to 12 across the country to share their ideas and perspectives through short videos. Instead of focusing on coding or technical tasks, the challenge encouraged participants to use visual storytelling to creatively explore themes such as futuristic technologies, the relationship with the environment, their vision for the world, and identity. Registrations opened on July 15, 2025, and the results were announced on August 18, 2025, marking a month-long celebration of creativity and innovation. A total of 32 students participated in the event.
The submissions were reviewed by a distinguished panel of eminent experts- Dr. Gaurav Gupta - MeitY; Dr. Vijayakumar Chinnadurai - DRDO, New Delhi; Dr. Vikas Vazhayil - NIMHANS Bengaluru; Dr. Biswadip Chatterjee - AIIMS,New Delhi and Ms. Swapnali Naik - NIELIT, New Delhi. Their diverse expertise ensured that each video was reviewed from multiple perspectives, blending technology, psychology, science, and creativity.
The quality and originality of the entries made the selection process highly competitive, and every participant was appreciated for their exceptional efforts. Initially, the plan was to recognize six winners, but owing to the high standards displayed during the competition, the jury decided to honour seven winners in total. The prizes were awarded as follows:
- First Prize (1 Winner): ?10,000
- Second Prize (2 Winners): ?5,000 each
- Third Prize (4 Winners): ?3,000 each
The Visual Brainathon 2025 proved to be much more than a competition-it was a platform for young students to express their creativity, share their unique perspectives, and showcase the power of storytelling. By hosting this event, C-DAC Delhi highlighted its commitment to nurturing innovation and giving a voice to the next generation of thinkers and creators.
