Unveiling Mobile Security Roadmap of India through Multi-Stakeholder Consultation

Need for Mobile Security Roadmap

Mobile devices are ubiquitous and essential in India, but they also pose many security challenges from different angles. These challenges include fake applications, data leakage, unsecured Wi-Fi, malware, phishing, spyware, device theft or loss to name a few. These threats can compromise the privacy, integrity, and availability of personal, government and enterprise data. Moreover, these threats can have serious implications for national security, especially because of the dominance of apps and mobile devices coming in from outside the country. Lack of effective analysis tools adds up to this. Therefore, as a country, there is a need to have a roadmap to address these challenges effectively and efficiently while balancing the requirements of various stakeholders, such as citizens, government, strategic agencies, startups, industry, social media platform providers, etc.

Objective of Stakeholder Consultation

  • To deliberate on challenges, strategies, and initiatives related to security of mobile devices, applications, and data from the perspective of various stakeholders
