Pre-summit on Shaping AI Impact in the Financial Sector

C-DAC Mumbai and Reserve Bank of India hosted the pre-summit event on "Shaping AI Impact in the Financial Sector" on November28th, 2025 at Bharat Ratnam, Mega CFC, Mumbai. The event saw participation from over 200 delegates across the financial sector, technology providers, and senior policy makers, including key leaders such as Shri. P. Vasudevan, Executive Director, RBI; Shri. Abhishek Singh (IAS), Additional Secretary, MeitY, and CEO, IndiaAI; and Ms. Kavita Bhatia, Scientist G, MeitY, and COO, IndiaAI.

The event began with the Welcome Address by Shri. Aditya Kumar Sinha, Executive Director, C-DAC Mumbai, followed by the Keynote Address by Shri. Suvendu Pati, Chief General Manager, RBI. The guest for the occasion, Ms. Kavita Bhatia, also addressed the gathering.

The outcomes of the earlier Mumbai and New Delhi stakeholder consultations, conducted with over 100 senior leaders from the financial and technology sectors, were formally presented highlighting that this pre-summit was part of a wider engagement effort jointly undertaken by C-DAC and RBI.

In the plenary session, Dr. S. D. Sudarsan, Executive Director, C-DAC Bangalore, spoke on C-DAC's plans to strengthen India's hardware and software infrastructure. As part of the capacity-building theme, multiple short-term AI courses for financial-sector professionals were launched by Shri. Abhishek Singh (IAS). He, along with Shri. P. Vasudevan, Executive Director, RBI, appreciated the initiative and encouraged financial institutions to consider these courses for internal capability development.

The closing fireside chat featured Shri. Abhishek Singh (IAS) and Shri. P. Vasudevan, Executive Director, RBI. Key messages of this session included: India must adopt AI responsibly, as emphasized by Shri. P. Vasudevan, and AI procurement frameworks and SLAs must anticipate risks and ensure clear accountability, as highlighted by Shri. Abhishek Singh.

Overall, the event was a success, bringing together strategic insights, policy direction, and concrete steps to drive responsible and impactful AI adoption in India's financial sector.
