C-DAC Mohali successfully hosted the "Workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Intellectual Property," an official Pre-Summit event of the AI Impact Summit 2026, held on December 4th – 5th, 2025. The workshop featured expert-led sessions along with interactive discussions focusing on key themes such as:
- AI advances, Harnessing AI to accelerate business
- AI driven Innovations and Global AI Equity
- Key Principles in Responsible & Safe AI
- Trends, Challenges and Patenting of AI and Computer Related Inventions
- AI Authorship and Ownership and copyright exceptions, Emerging issues in IP - AI driven disruptions
- Developing Technology Products - Enabling IP value expression, TRLs
Distinguished experts from the domains of Artificial Intelligence and Intellectual Property delivered insightful lectures aligned with the workshop theme. The sessions underscored the dynamic evolution of Intellectual Property Rights in tandem with technological advancements, particularly the rise of AI. Shri V. K. Sharma, Scientist G and Centre Head, C-DAC Mohali, also interacted with the participants, emphasizing the need to build awareness and strengthen the capacities of innovators across the distinct yet interrelated dimensions of AI and IP.
