Engaging discussions took place at C-DAC Delhi on May 6th, 2025with a visiting delegation from Brazil's Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI), under the leadership of Director Mr. Hamilton Mendes. Director General of C-DAC, Mr. Magesh Ethirajan, represented the Indian side.

The meeting commenced with a warm welcome from Director General, C-DAC, followed by introductions of both delegations. Mr. Hamilton Mendes then provided opening remarks, outlining the objectives of their visit to explore mutual areas of cooperation. This led into a presentation on C-DAC's capabilities by Mr. Pramod PJ, which included a discussion on our global presence and projects in Brazil.
The key interest areas for collaboration opportunities, which were discussed during the meeting are:
- Hamilton Mendes, emphasized interest in India's advances in HPC, AI, cybersecurity, and innovation, proposing a joint webinar on R&D collaboration.
- Inatel's Carlos Nazareth Marin showcased Brazil's telecom projects and partnerships, highlighting initiatives like 5G Range, 5G IoT, and the Brazil 6G Project.
- Rubens Caetano de Souza outlined Brazil's digital strategies, focusing on AI (via the 2024-2028 National Plan), semiconductors using RISC-V, and quantum computing, aiming to make Brazil a global tech hub.
- C-DAC highlighted supercomputing achievements through the National Supercomputing Mission, including 37 PARAM systems, and leadership in artificial intelligence, quantum, cybersecurity, and open-source technologies.
The delegation commended C-DAC for its impactful national and global initiatives, as well as its development of indigenous technologies. They expressed their appreciation for organizing the meeting and eagerly looking forward to initiating collaborative opportunities through an exchange of proposals, aiming for a swift understanding. The visit concluded with a tour of the PARAM Rudra facility at C-DAC Delhi.
