In an era where digital threats evolve by the hour, cybersecurity has emerged as a cornerstone of national security and digital resilience. Rising to this challenge, C-DAC Patna, in collaboration with the Economic Offences Unit (EOU), Bihar Police, successfully conducted a National Level Cyber Hackathon from June25th - 26th, 2025 aimed at unearthing innovative solutions to real-world cybersecurity challenges.
The event was graced by the presence of several esteemed dignitaries. Shri. Nayyar Hasnain Khan, ADG, EOU, Bihar Police, attended as the Chief Guest, alongside Shri. Aditya Kumar Sinha, Director, C-DAC Patna. Senior officials including Shri. Sanjay Kumar (DIG, Cyber), Shri. Manavjeet Singh Dhillon (DIG, EOU), Shri. Vinay Kumar Tiwari (SP, Cyber), and Shri.Amarkesh D (SP, Cyber) also marked their presence. From C-DAC Patna, Cdr. Vivek Kumar Yadav, Scientists E and Dr. Kunal Abhishek, Scientists E and Shri. Saket Kumar Jha, Scientists D contributed significantly to the successful execution of the event.
This landmark 24-hour event witnessed remarkable participation from across the country, establishing itself as a premier platform for problem-solving and technological excellence:
- Over 300 teams registered, working on 24 domain-specific problem statements
- Top 20 teams were shortlisted after rigorous evaluation
- 14 teams advanced to the grand finale, representing diverse states including Bihar,West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and more
The hackathon offered participants a dynamic and immersive experience, encouraging them to ideate, collaborate, and execute under pressure. Their innovative solutions addressed a range of pressing cybersecurity challenges such as Social Media Analysis Tools, Spam Alert Systems, Secure Document Handling, Money Laundering Detection, Crime Prediction Models, VoIP Call Tracing etc.
In recognition of the outstanding talent and innovative solutions presented during the hackathon, a total prize pool of ?60,000 was awarded to the top three teams. The National Level Cyber Hackathon stands as a testament to the growing synergy between technology, governance, and public safety. It not only empowered budding cybersecurity professionals but also underscored C-DAC Patna's pivotal role in building a future-ready digital defense ecosystem.
As cyber threats grow in complexity, initiatives like this serve as a beacon for innovation, collaboration, and strategic readiness. With this success, C-DAC Patna reaffirms its commitment to nurturing talent and fortifying India's cybersecurity landscape.
