Course on New Age Media & IT

C-DAC Delhi, in collaboration with the India Institution of Creative Skills (IICS), New Delhi, launched a two-week Certificate Course on New Age Media & IT from February 23rd to March 6th, 2026, for 30 nominated participants from Bhutan under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation Programme (ITEC) Scheme of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.

The initiative aims to enhance digital media capabilities, encourage innovation, and foster professional collaboration within Bhutan’s evolving media and IT ecosystem. The intensive 80-hour programme was conducted over two weeks, with the first week held at the IICS Campus in Lajpat Nagar and the second week at the C-DAC Delhi campus.

Ms. Pooja Arora, delivered the welcome address and warmly greeted all dignitaries, officials, and participants present at the event. She extended a special welcome to the participants from Bhutan attending under the ITEC Scheme, along with officials from C-DAC and other esteemed guests.

In her address, Ms. Arora highlighted the rapidly emerging opportunities in digital media, advanced technologies, and IT-driven domains that are reshaping today’s industry landscape. She emphasized the growing demand for future-ready skills and the importance of equipping young professionals with industry-relevant competencies. She further elaborated on the various skill development initiatives undertaken by the Media & Entertainment Skills Council (MESC), aimed at empowering students with practical knowledge and technical expertise.

Shri. Jitendra Singh, delivered the opening remarks and welcomed all dignitaries, officials, and participants from Bhutan to the Certificate Course on New Age Media & IT at C-DAC Delhi in collaboration with IICS. He stated that the course has been specially designed for participants from a media background under the ITEC Scheme of the Government of India.

He further mentioned that the programme aims to enhance participants’ skills in digital media, emerging technologies, and advanced IT tools that are shaping the future of the global media landscape. With the valuable support of MESC and IICS, the training is designed to remain industry-oriented, practical, and aligned with international standards. He expressed confidence that the programme would not only strengthen professional capabilities but also deepen the bond of cooperation between India and Bhutan.

Shri. Vijay Kayat, in his address, highlighted the significance of the ITEC Scheme of the Ministry of External Affairs as an important instrument of India’s developmental assistance and international cooperation, emphasizing its role in capacity building and strengthening global partnerships. Drawing from his extensive experience in policy formulation, technology deployment, service delivery, capacity building, project management, administration, and international collaboration, he shared valuable insights into the impact of technology-driven initiatives. He also spoke about the growing footprint of C-DAC across India and its expanding global presence in advanced computing, research, and skill development, particularly through programmes offered under the ITEC Scheme. Encouraging participants to act as goodwill ambassadors of C-DAC, he urged them to promote the courses offered in India among their colleagues and professional networks, while applauding the resource persons for designing a comprehensive and structured curriculum and appreciating the dedicated efforts of the organizing team at C-DAC Delhi.

Shri. Gaurav Birla, Academic Consultant, MESC, welcomed the participants and introduced the IICS faculty members and resource persons who will guide them throughout the course. The induction ceremony concluded with the distribution of course kits to all participants by the dignitaries, marking the beginning of an enriching learning journey.
