C-DAC, Patna, successfully concluded CryptCom-2026, a six-day specialized certificate programme on Practical Cryptography and Secure Communications, held from May 26th–31th, 2026. The programme brought together scientists and engineers from leading Government organizations and strategic R&D institutions across India, reinforcing the nation's efforts toward building a highly skilled workforce in cybersecurity, cryptography, and secure communications.
The programme was inaugurated by Shri Abhinav Dixit, Scientist G'& Centre Head, C-DAC Patna, who highlighted the critical role of cryptographic technologies in securing India's digital ecosystem, protecting strategic assets, and enabling trusted communications in an increasingly complex cyber-threat landscape.
Scientists and engineers from premier organizations including STQC, ECIL, C-DAC Hyderabad, C-DOT, and DAE participated in the intensive programme. Designed to bridge theory with practice, CryptCom-2026 provided comprehensive exposure to modern cryptographic systems, secure communication architectures, cryptographic key management frameworks, post-quantum cryptography, quantum technologies, operating-system security, and secure network design.
A distinctive feature of the programme was its strong emphasis on in-depth theory with experiential learning. Participants engaged in extensive laboratory sessions, hands-on exercises, and technical demonstrations that translated advanced cryptographic concepts into real-world applications. The programme also showcased indigenous cybersecurity innovations developed at C-DAC Patna, including the EYES: ransomware key recovery solution, GHOST: elliptic-curve generation and verification tool, and GANGA: a formal random number generation tool for operating systems. These demonstrations provided participants with practical insights into cutting-edge technologies being developed to strengthen India's cyber resilience.
The technical sessions were delivered by a distinguished team of experts from C-DAC Patna, including Dr. Kunal Abhishek, Scientist E, Shri Nishant Shekhar, Scientist D, Shri Asim Anand, Scientist C, ShriGaurav Kumar, Scientist C, ShriPrabhakar Mishra, Scientist B, and ShriKaigausang, Scientist B. Through interactive discussions, case studies, and practical exercises, participants gained valuable expertise in emerging cryptographic technologies and secure communication frameworks relevant to national security and critical infrastructure protection.
The programme received overwhelmingly positive feedback from participants, who commended its technical depth, practical orientation, and high-quality delivery. Many highlighted the rare opportunity to interact with domain experts and gain hands-on experience with contemporary cryptographic tools and indigenous cybersecurity solutions.
The successful completion of CryptCom-2026 marks a significant milestone in C-DAC Patna's continuing mission to advance cybersecurity research, foster indigenous technology development, and enhance national capacity in cryptography and secure communications. By empowering scientists and engineers with advanced technical expertise, the programme contributes directly to India's vision of a secure, self-reliant, and technologically empowered digital future, capable of addressing emerging cyber threats in the quantum era.
