C-DAC, Hyderabad,conducted a three-day training programme on the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA 2023) - Awareness & Implementation for officials of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and its labs at the National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), Balanagar, Hyderabad, from June 10th to June 12th, 2026.
The training programme aimed to build awareness and operational readiness among ISRO personnel on India's landmark data protection legislation, equipping them with the knowledge and tools necessary for institutional compliance with the DPDPA 2023.
The training programme was inaugurated by Shri M Ganesh Pillai, Scientific Secretary, ISRO along with ShriRajiv R. Chetwani, Director, DISM/ CISO, DOS & ISRO and Dr. P R Lakshmi Eswari, Centre Head, C-DAC Hyderabad.
The programme provided end-to-end coverage spanning the DPDP Act's governance and regulatory foundations, data management and compliance mapping, Privacy by Design principles, Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), security implementation, consent management, data principal rights, privacy-enhancing technologies, audit readiness, breach detection, log monitoring, incident response, and grievance handling.
The training received an overwhelmingly positive response from participants, with strong ratings for content relevance, session engagement, and trainer effectiveness. Participants particularly appreciated the interactive learning approach, including scenario-based exercises, quizzes, tabletop activities, and Q&A discussions, which helped translate regulatory concepts into practical understanding. Feedback highlighted that the key topics such as DPIA, privacy by design, security controls, and breach response were especially valuable.
The programme concluded with a comprehensive case study, where participants applied their learning to a real-world compliance scenario from end to end.C-DAC Hyderabad reaffirms its commitment to empowering government institutions with the awareness and technical expertise required to navigate India's evolving data protection landscape.
