During November and December 2024, C-DAC Mohali successfully organized a series of five-day Faculty Development Programmes (FDP) at various colleges. These programmes, hosted under the Electronics & ICT Academy Scheme Phase II, a project funded by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, engaged 189 participants, encompassing faculty from engineering colleges, polytechnics, STEM teachers, lab technicians, and research scholars. The FDPs were instrumental in fostering educational excellence and innovation within the domains of electronics and information and communications technology.
The programmes focused on the following topics:
- Transforming Teaching: Strategies for Digital Learning and Content (Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran from November18th to 22nd, 2024) In collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran, the Academy organized a noteworthy FDP, which garnered significant participation and positive feedback from attendees. The event aimed to introduce faculty to strategies for enhancing teaching through effective digital learning and innovative content development. The 40-hour course included theory, practical sessions, and pedagogy modules to facilitate the application of learning. Inaugural session attended by Campus Director Prof. (Dr.) P.N. - Machine Learning & Data Analytics Using Python and Web Technologies. (Department of Computer Applications, Chandigarh School of Business, CGC, Jhanjeri, Mohali, from December 9th to 20th, 2024)
The programme aimed to equip participants with proficiency in applying machine learning and data analytics techniques using Python and web technologies to address real-world challenges. It featured hands-on sessions designed to enhance the participants' skills effectively.
- Introduction to IoT and AI: The Future of Connected Devices (Chandigarh University, Punjab, from December 10th to 14th, 2024)
This programme aimed to provide insights into the transformative potential of IoT and AI in creating connected ecosystems. Participants gained valuable knowledge and hands-on experience in applying these technologies to practical scenarios. The valedictory ceremony was attended by Chief Scientist, CSIR- CSIO Dr. Satish Kumar and who delivered an expert lecture.
- Introduction to IoT and AI: The Future of Connected Devices (Chandigarh Engineering College, Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri, from December 16th to 20th, 2024.)
This programme delivered the applications of IoT and AI in various industries, equipping participants with the skills needed to adapt to the rapidly evolving technological landscape. During the practical session, device demonstrations were also conducted, providing hands-on experience to the participants and enhancing their understanding of the concepts discussed.
