C-DAC, Delhi successfully organized a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on "Quantum Education" from February 10th to 12th, 2026 at its Jasola campus under the Centre for Excellence in Quantum Education. The three-day intensive programme was designed to strengthen theoretical understanding and practical competencies in emerging quantum technologies among faculty members and academic professionals.
The programme commenced with an Induction Ceremony on February10th, 2026, in the presence of Shri Jitendra Singh, Scientist G & Centre Head, C-DAC Delhi, senior officials, and experts from C-DAC. Ms. Richa Chaudhary, Faculty & Course Counsellor, C-DAC Delhi, delivered the welcome address and emphasized the growing importance of Quantum Technologies in reshaping computing, cybersecurity, and communication domains.
Shri Apoorva Kohli, Scientist E and Group Head, ACTS, C-DAC Delhi, addressed the participants and formally welcomed them to the FDP. In his address, he highlighted the significance of such specialized capacity-building programmes in frontier technologies and emphasized the importance of collaborative initiatives in strengthening the industry–academia relationship.
In his inaugural address, Shri Jitendra Singh, highlighted the strategic relevance of quantum technologies under national initiatives and stressed the need for building academic capacity to prepare a skilled and future-ready workforce. ShriArvind Kumar, Senior Advisor, C-DAC, delivered the induction speech, underscoring the importance of interdisciplinary learning, research orientation, and innovation-driven education in frontier technologies.
The FDP featured expert-led sessions conducted by eminent researchers and faculty members from C-DAC:
- Dr. Anindita Banerjee delivered Session 1 on Quantum Computing Basics, providing foundational insights into principles of quantum mechanics applied to computing.
- Ms. Vethonulu Losu conducted Session 2 on Quantum Gates and Circuits, followed by an interactive tutorial session.
- Shri Dibya Prakash Behera led Session 3 on Quantum Communication, covering advanced concepts such as Superdense Coding, Quantum Teleportation, and BB84 Protocol.
- A hands-on session on Quantum Communication was facilitated by ShriDibya Prakash Behera and ShriPrathamesh Bhole.
- ShriPrathamesh Bhole conducted Session 5 on Quantum Algorithms, including Deutsch–Jozsa and Grover’s Algorithm.
- The programme concluded with an extensive hands-on session on Quantum Computing, jointly facilitated by ShriPrathamesh Bhole and Ms. Vethonulu Losu.
The Valedictory Ceremony was held on February 12th, 2026 at C-DAC Delhi in the presence of Centre leadership, senior officials, FDP participants, and expert faculty members. The ceremony commenced with the valedictory address by Shri Jitendra Singh, who appreciated the enthusiastic participation of faculty members and emphasized the transformative potential of quantum education in strengthening India’s technological ecosystem. He reiterated C-DAC’s commitment to advancing research, innovation, and capacity building in emerging technologies under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India.
During the ceremony, FDP participants shared their valuable feedback, highlighting the effectiveness of the structured curriculum, hands-on exposure, and expert mentorship. Certificates were distributed to all participants in recognition of their successful completion of the programme. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks followed by a group photograph.The FDP provided a balanced blend of conceptual clarity and practical exposure through demonstrations, tutorials, and hands-on lab sessions. Participants actively engaged in discussions on curriculum integration, research collaboration, and implementation of quantum modules in academic institutions.
