Hindi Workshop on International Mother Language Day

On 24 February 2026, to mark International Mother Language Day, CSIR–Central Road Research Institute (CRRI) organised a Hindi workshop and training programme. C-DAC Delhi took an active part in the event, which was held in the CRRI auditorium. The primary aim of the workshop was to encourage the increased use of Hindi in official work and to integrate the language with emerging domains such as language technology and artificial intelligence.

From C-DAC Delhi, Dr. Priyanka Jain, Scientist F and Head of the Neuro-Cognitive AI and XR Group, was invited to serve as the chief speaker and expert resource person.She delivered a talk on “Language Technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI),” in which she explained how modern AI-driven language technologies are enhancing the effectiveness, accessibility, and practical use of Hindi. She emphasized that, much like next-generation computing, language technology is driving significant transformations in knowledge creation, research, and administrative processes, with C-DAC playing an increasingly prominent role in this domain.

In the second session, in-depth deliberations took place on the theme “Challenges of Research Paper Writing in Hindi, Generative AI (GenAI) Tools, and Ethics.” Dr. Jain underscored the importance of using AI-based tools responsibly and ethically to make technical and research writing in Hindi simpler, more effective, and of higher quality.

The panel discussion on “Increasing the Progressive Use of Hindi in Offices through AI Resources” featured valuable insights and experiences shared by experts and participants. The discussion also highlighted the relevance and practical utility of language-technology solutions developed and proposed by C-DAC.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers, scientists, staff members, and researchers of CRRI. The workshop received wide appreciation for its timely themes, technology-oriented perspective, and expert guidance from C-DAC. Overall, the event reaffirmed C-DAC’s strong commitment and leadership in integrating Hindi with modern technology and innovation.
