International Cohort Completes AI Training at C-DAC Mohali

Empowering a global cohort, C-DAC Mohali hosted a two-week Specialized Training Programme from March 18th to March 31st, 2025that enabled 55 individuals from 48 countries to tackle real-world problems using Artificial Intelligence. The ITECsupported initiative, sponsored by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, provided a strong foundation of AI theory and hands-on practice relevant to sectors like healthcare, finance, robotics, and entertainment.

Participants were given exposure to Python programming concepts, statistical analysis, machine learning, data visualization, and deep learning. They worked extensively with widely-used libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Keras, and TensorFlow, gaining expertise in handling datasets, data preprocessing, model building, training, and performance evaluation.

The programme was conducted under the leadership of Shri. Ajay Mudgil, ScientistE and Head of Education & Training, and Dr. Manjit Kaur, ScientistE and ITEC Coordinator, with significant support from Dr. Suneet Madan, Head, Human Computer Interface Division. The training was efficiently coordinated and executed by Ms. Nandita Singla, PE and Ms. Himani, PE. Valuable support was provided by ITEC Cell representatives, Ms. Amritpal Kaur, PTO, Assistant ITEC Coordinator, and Ms. Asha Rani, STO, along with other technical team members.

To complement the technical sessions, participants embarked on an enriching study tour to Amritsar, where visits to the Golden Temple and Jallianwala Bagh provided insights into India's rich cultural heritage.

To mark the successful completion of the programme, a valedictory ceremony was held on March 31st, 2025. During the event, Dr. Suneet Madan, Scientist E and Shri. Ajay Mudgil, Scientist E congratulated the participants on their achievements and presented them with certificates.
