C-DAC Hyderabad Empowers Future Leaders on Internet Governance

C-DAC Hyderabad, with the support of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), conducted a National Workshop on "Empowering Future Leaders on Internet Governance" for Graduate and Post Graduate students, as well as faculty, on January 31, 2025, in Hyderabad.

The primary objective of the workshop was to provide participants with comprehensive knowledge and insights into Internet Governance, helping them understand the policies, standards, and regulations that shape the digital landscape. The workshop aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world applications, equipping students with the skills to navigate and contribute to the evolving internet ecosystem.

Over 120 participants from various engineering colleges attended the workshop. It pro-vided an exceptional platform for engaging with thought leaders and deepening participants' understanding of Internet Governance in India. The workshop also sparked interest in the student community, motivating them to explore careers and opportunities, while encouraging their participation in Internet Governance events and activities.

The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. P R Lakshmi Eswari, Scientist-G & Centre Head, C-DAC Hyderabad, who welcomed the participants and shared insights into C-DAC's initiatives in computing. The event featured expert sessions from Shri. Sunil Kumar, Scientist-E, C-DAC Delhi, and Shri. Shiv Upadhyay, Technology Expert, who discussed Internet Governance, its ecosystem, and key components. Shri. M. Kumar, Scientist-E, delivered an informative session on Cybercrime, Cybersecurity Challenges & Trends, while Dr. S.V. Srikanth, Scientist-E, spoke on the rise of IoT in Internet Governance.

By the end of the workshop, students were better prepared to contribute to the growth of India's digital ecosystem and participate in global Internet Governance initiatives. The workshop concluded with an engaging online quiz on Internet Governance, where students had the chance to win exciting prizes.
