India-Myanmar Centre for Enhancement of IT Skills

The fifth phase of the Government of India's support for the India-Myanmar Centre for Enhancement of IT Skills (IMCEITS), a project by the C-DACDelhi, was officially launched on March 4th, 2025. This initiative is a flagship project of the Government of India in Southeast Asia.

To strengthen this partnership, C-DAC conducteda one-week (August 11th to August 15th, 2025) Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Artificial Intelligence (AI) at IMCEITS. Shri Kaushal Kishor Sharma, Scientist E, C-DAC ACTS Pune led the FDP, which was attended by 58 participants (33 from polytechnic/universities and 25 from the private IT sector).

In the coming weeks, five Master Trainers from India-Myanmar Centre for Enhancement of IT Skills (IMCEITS) will travel to C-DAC Pune. They will participate in six-month Post Graduate Diploma courses in specialized fields, including IT Infrastructure, Systems & Security, Big Data Analytics, Advanced Computing, and Artificial Intelligence.

IMCEITS was originally established by C-DAC Delhi with the financial assistance from the Government of India and was inaugurated on October 16th, 2008. IMCEITS was upgraded to a C-DAC Authorized Training Centre (ATC) in 2015. It has successfully completed four phases of its mission: (Phase-I: 2008 to 2010; Phase-II: 2014 to 2017; Phase-III: 2017 to 2020; Phase-IV: 2021 to 2024).

IMCEITS is dedicated to providing high-quality IT training courses developed by C-DAC to students in Myanmar, generating employment opportunities for local youths. IMCEITS serves as a hub for capacity building, empowering individuals with the skills needed to succeed in the dynamic field of Information Technology. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, its state-of-the-art facilities support research, development, and innovation within the IT sector.
