Implementation of the Official Language Policy

With the objective of promoting the effective implementation of the Government of India's Official Language Policy and encouraging the increased use of Hindi in office and technical work, C-DAC Patna organized a special Rajbhasha workshop on May13th, 2026. The theme of the workshop was "भारतसरकारकीराजभाषानीति: हमारेदायित्व"officers and employees participated enthusiastically, and various aspects related to the practical and technical use of Hindi were discussed in detail.

Welcoming the participants and dignitaries, Shri Abhinav Dixit, Centre Head of C-DAC Patna said that the organization is continuously making efforts to promote the use of Hindi in technical fields. Highlighting the importance of such workshops, he stated that these programmes help increase awareness about Rajbhasha among employees and encourage the smooth use of Hindi in official work. He also emphasized that regular interaction and training are essential for the effective implementation of the Official Language Policy.

On this occasion, Shri Niranjan Vaishnav, Registrar, C-DAC stressed the need for simple and effective use of Hindi in administrative work., Shri Prabhakar Pandey, Hindi Officer, C-DAC (Corporate Office) shared information regarding various Rajbhasha provisions, annual programmes, and activities conducted for the promotion of Hindi.

The keynote speaker, Shri Shiv Kumar Nigam, Joint Director (Rajbhasha), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, spoke in detail about the present relevance of the Official Language Policy, its effective implementation, and the growing importance of Hindi in the digital era. He said that Hindi is not only a language of communication but is also emerging as a strong medium for administrative efficiency and innovation. He also highlighted the importance of technical tools, work systems, and digital platforms in increasing the use of Hindi in government offices.

In his address, Shri Nigam urged officers and employees to use Hindi extensively in their daily work, correspondence, e-office activities, report writing, and technical documents. He stated that the objective of the Official Language Policy is to make administrative work simpler, more accessible, and more useful for the common people.

An interactive session was also organized during the workshop, where practical challenges related to working in Hindi and their possible solutions were discussed. Officials also shared suggestions regarding the use of Hindi in technical terminology, e-mails, and digital communication.

The workshop concluded with a collective resolve to make Hindi a natural part of daily office culture rather than limiting it to mere formality. The workshop inspired participants to use Hindi in a simple, effective, and practical manner and played an important role in spreading awareness about the Official Language Policy.
