C-DAC Mohali successfully concluded a two weekstraining programmeon Quantum Computing and Information Science (QCIS).Held from January 15th to 28th, 2025, the programme was part of the ITEC initiative, sponsored by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India. Twenty-eight international participants from sixteen different countries took part.Thetraining programmeprovided a comprehensive understanding of quantum mechanics, covering fundamental concepts such as linear algebra, quantum gates, circuits, protocols, and algorithms. Participants also gained hands-on experience with quantum circuit simulators, software development kits, and quantum programming libraries.To enhance practical exposure, a visit to the NMR Quantum Lab at IISER Mohali was organized.Beyond the technical curriculum, a study tour to the Golden Temple and Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar provided a rich cultural experience, immersing participants in India's heritage.
On January 27th, 2025, a valedictory ceremony and farewell party were organized to celebrate the successful conclusion of the course and to honor the efforts and contributions of participants, faculty, and staff.Shri. V.K. Sharma, Centre Head, C-DAC Mohali, graced the event as the chief guest and delivered a motivational speech, urging participants to utilize their newly gained expertise in projects and research within the fast-paced and ever-changing realm of technology.
He also commended the unwavering dedication of the vibrant Quantum team, which included Dr. Gurmohan Singh Scientist-E, Dr. Manjit Kaur Scientist-E, Shri. Vivek NaniwalScientist-E, C-DAC Hyderabad, Dr. Tarun (PE), Ms. Sumaira Farooq (PE), Ms. Sonali (PE), and Mrs. Nandita (PE).Furthermore, he recognized the ITEC Cell for their seamless coordination in managing boarding, lodging, study tours, and the overall execution of the training programme. He expressed gratitude for the efforts of Shri. Ajay MudgilScientist -E, Head of Education & Training, Dr. Manjit Kaur (ITEC Coordinator), Mrs. Amritpal Kaur (PTO), and Mrs. Asha Rani (STO). The ceremony concluded with the distribution of course completion certificates, recognizing the participants' successful completion of the training programme.
