C-DAC, Mohali, concluded a two weeks specialized training programme in Digital Health on September 2nd, 2025, under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) initiative of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India.
The programme brought together 30 professionals from 13 countries, fostering international collaboration in digital healthcare innovation. Designed to address the rising global demand for digital health solutions, the hybrid training combined expert-led sessions from academia and industry, integrating theoretical knowledge with practical experience.
The curriculum provided an in-depth understanding of India's digital health landscape, covering foundational to advanced topics such as AI/ML in healthcare, database management, cybersecurity, rehabilitation technologies, and telemedicine guidelines. Participants were engaged with national digital health initiatives including eSanjeevani, e-Aushadhi, e-Sushrut, SeHAT OPD, and the Medical Value Travel (MVT) Application. Case studies from the Punjab and Jharkhand Telemedicine Networks offered practical insights into real-world applications. The participants gained hands-on experience with point-of-care devices integrated with eSanjeevani, showcasing how digital tools can enhance primary healthcare access in underserved regions.
As part of the programme, field visits to Ayushman Arogya Mandir (Ramgarh, Haryana), PGIMER Chandigarh, and Ayushman Arogya Kendra, (UPHC) Mohali provided first-hand exposure to real-world implementation of telemedicine and Hospital Management Information System (HMIS). A cultural study tour to Amritsar was also organized.
The programme concluded with a valedictory ceremony graced by Shri. Sakatar Singh Bal, PCS, Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab, as Chief Guest. Addressing the participants, he encouraged them to leverage the training to drive digital health transformation in their respective countries. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the invaluable contributions of the management, DHID team, administration, finance department, and the ITEC team in ensuring the programme's success.
