C-DAC Mohali successfully concluded a two-week week Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC)training programme on Quantum Computing and Information Science, held from January 21st to February 3rd, 2026, under the aegis of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India. The programme brought together 24 participants from nine countries -Ethiopia, Ghana, Indonesia, Laos, Libya, Paraguay, Tajikistan, Tanzania, and Vietnam—fostering international collaboration and knowledge exchange in advanced quantum technologies.
Participants received comprehensive exposure to both fundamental and advanced topics in quantum computing, including quantum mechanics, quantum gates, quantum circuits, protocols, and algorithms along with an introduction to quantum machine learning and its applications. The programme emphasized hands-on learning through practical sessions using quantum circuit simulators, software development kits, and quantum programming libraries.
An industry visit to the IISER Mohali NMR Laboratory provided participants with insights into real-world quantum research and development environments. In addition, a study tour to Amritsar enabled participants to visit the Golden Temple and Jallianwala Bagh, offering a glimpse into India’s rich cultural heritage.
The valedictory ceremony commenced on February 03, 2026 with a heartwarming message from Shri V.K. Sharma, Centre Head and Scientist G, C-DAC Mohali. The Chief Guest, Shri Kuldeep Kumar Dwivedi, Head of Administration, C-DAC, Mohali lauded the initiative for strengthening international collaboration and building global expertise in emerging quantum technologies.Shri Dwivedi appreciated the efforts of the quantum teamcomprising Dr. Gurmohan Singh, Scientist E, Dr. Manjit Kaur, Scientist E, Dr. Tarun Kumar, Project Engineer, Shri Rohan Thakur, Project Manager, Shri Sushil Choubey, Project Engineer, Shri Ankit, Project Engineer, and Shri Anmol Sharan Singh, Project Engineer.
