C-DAC Explores Collaboration with Jammu & Kashmir to Boost Science & Technology Landscape

In a significant step towards strengthening the science and technology landscape of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri. Jitesh Choudhary, Centre Head, C-DAC CINE, had the privilege of meeting Shri. Satish Sharma, Hon'ble IT Minister of Jammu & Kashmir on Feb12th, 2025. The meeting focused on exploring C-DAC's potential role in enhancing the region's technological ecosystem through innovation, research, and skill development.

During the discussion, Shri. Jitesh Choudhary highlighted C-DAC's expertise in high-performance computing (HPC), artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, IoT, and emerging technologies, emphasizing their relevance in addressing the unique challenges and opportunities in J&K. He also outlined potential collaborative projects aimed at capacity building, digital transformation, and research-driven solutions to drive socio-economic growth in the state.

Hon'ble IT Minister, Shri Satish Sharma, welcomed the proposal and acknowledged C-DAC's pivotal role in advancing scientific research, technological innovation, and skill enhancement. He expressed keen interest in leveraging C-DAC's expertise to support the state's initiatives in e-Governance, smart infrastructure, and cybersecurity, ensuring that J&K remains at the forefront of technological advancements.

The discussion also touched upon possible strategic partnerships between C-DAC and IT department in J&K to foster R&D collaborations, digital skilling programmes, and start-up incubation initiatives. The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both sides agreeing to explore concrete action plans for implementation in the near future.

This engagement marks a crucial step towards C-DAC's expanding footprint in the region, reinforcing its commitment to nation-building through technological excellence.
