Assam Gas Company Limited (AGCL), a Public Sector Undertaking under the Government of Assam, and C-DAC, have signed a MoU to explore collaborative opportunities in the fields of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and natural gas distribution. Under this partnership, both organizations aim to jointly explore research, development, services, and training opportunities of mutual interest.
AGCL is engaged in the transportation and distribution of natural gas through its integrated pipeline network, catering to domestic, commercial, and industrial consumers. The company is also involved in the retail business of CNG, petrol, and diesel, contributing significantly to Assam's energy landscape.
C-DAC, on the other hand, is India's premier R&D institution in advanced computing and ICT. It has been at the forefront of innovations in high-performance computing,multilingual computing, cyber security, software technologies, e-governance, health informatics, strategic electronics, and advanced ICT training.
The collaboration seeks to bring together AGCL's expertise in the energy sector and C-DAC's technological capabilities to develop solutions that address nationally important challenges, enhance operational efficiency, and promote socio-economic advancement.
Speaking on the occasion, representatives of both organizations expressed optimism that the MoU would pave the way for impactful initiatives leveraging technology and innovation for sustainable growth.
This strategic understanding marks the beginning of a partnership that aims to bridge energy operations with cutting-edge ICT solutions, thereby fostering growth and efficiency in line with the national development agenda.
