C-DAC Noida, in partnership with the Department of Computer Science at the University of Delhi, Gautam Buddha Nagar Police, and Delhi Police, conducted the Cyber Security Awareness Week 2025 as part of the Information Security Education and Awareness Project Phase III. This week aimed to educate the public on digital footprints, phishing, malware, and cyber frauds related to social media and financial transactions, highlighting fraudster tactics and preventative measures.
The cyber security awareness week, spanning March 25th to 31st, 2025, began with an inauguration byDr. Tulika Pandey, Scientist G & Group Coordinator, MeitY, marking the beginning of a significant initiative towards strengthening cybersecurity awareness. Senior members from University of Delhi and C-DAC Noida were also present at the event. Prof. Vasudha Bhatnagar, Sr. Professor, Department of Computer Science, University of Delhi, Shri. Vivek Khaneja, Executive Director, C-DAC Noida, Shri. Vijay Kumar Sharma, Scientist G, C-DAC Noida, Dr. Om Pal, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science, University of Delhi, Smt. Rekha Saraswat, Scientist E, C-DAC Noida, Ms. Kanti Singh, Scientist E, C-DAC Noida graced the event.
A diverse range of cyber security awareness activities, including workshops, master training, webinars, road shows, quizzes, drawing competitions, radio and Doordarshanprogrammes, street plays, and walkathons, were held in the Delhi/NCR region to instill a culture of cybersecurity vigilance and responsible digital practices among students, teachers, government officials, police, and communities.
The Government of India is actively addressing cyber security through initiatives such as the national helplines 1930 and 112, the national women's helpline 181, a cyber-crime reporting portal at https://cybercrime.gov.in, and the Sanchar Sathi Chakshu portal https://sancharsaathi.gov.in/sfc/ for reporting suspected fraud communication.
