A four-day Training and Certification Programme on "Secure Software Develop-ment - Level 1" was conducted from February 17th to 20th, 2025 at C-DAC Hydera-bad as part of the "Generating Highly Skilled & Certified Cyber Security Profes-sionals (CISOs)" initiative. This programme aims to establish a robust training and certification mechanism for CISOs, Deputy CISOs, and Associate team of CI-SOs/aspirants from government and other sectors under ISEA Project (Phase-III) by MeitY, GoI.
A total of 15 CISO-level officers, ranging from Assistant Engineer to Senior Manager, participated in the training. They represented organizations such as Airports Authority of India, Hitachi Energy, HCL Tech, Medimaze, Amara Raja Energy and Mobility Limited, Prodigy Infotech, and interns from across the country.
The course covered Cyber Threats in Software Development, Secure SDLC, SRTM, Cryptography, Security Metrics, Secure Design, Threat Modelling, Software Composition Analysis, Secure Coding (C++, JavaScript), WAF, OWASP Top 10, Web Security, SAST, REST API Security, Security Test Cases, DAST (OWASP ZAP), and Docker Security.
Participants engaged in hands-on live demonstrations and practical lab activities. These activities were assessed, and certificates were issued based on their performance.
The training programme was led by Dr. P. R. Lakshmi Eswari, Centre Head, C-DAC Hyderabad. The course was designed and coordinated by Dr. Ch. A. S. Murty, Scientist G and ISEA Coordinator. The implementation was led by Mrs. Indraveni K, Scientist E (ISS Team), and Shri. N. Satyanarayana, Scientist E, with sessions delivered by Ms. P. Sailaja (Scientist D), Ms. R. Swathi (Senior Project Engineer), Ms. Ramya Chitra T. P. R. (Senior Project Engineer), Shri. Prashant Gone (Senior Project Engineer), and Shri. V. Harish (Project Engineer).
Shri. Vamshi Krishna Palakurthi (Scientist E and ISEA-CISO Coordinator), Shri. B. Nandeeshwar (Project Manager), Shri. Tyeb Naushad (Project Manager), Dr. C. Ramakrishnaiah (Senior Project Engineer), Shri. E. Naresh (Project Officer, ISEA-PMU), and Shri. Akash Mishra (Project Engineer), along with the dedicated ISEA-CISO team, contributed and supported the programme.

Training Kit:
The content of Secure Software Development - Level 1 were provided to all the participants online of course, lab documents, case studies were distributed through LMS.
Feedback and Certification Exam:
The training was well appreciated by the participants and received excellent feedback for the interactive hands on and practical sessions. A certification examination for Level-1 Secure Software Development Engineer has been conducted for the participants.
