Empowering Professionals with Secure Software Development Lifecycle Skills

In a joint initiative, C-DAC Hyderabad and IIT Bhilai successfully organized a five-day training programme on Secure Software Development Lifecycle Practices Certification (SSDLCP) from December 16th to 20th, 2024. The training, hosted at C-DAC Hyderabad, saw participation from 26 professionals representing AAI, BSNL, C-DAC Thiruvananthapuram, STPI, and UTIITSL.

To emphasize the significance of robust security measures, Dr. P.R. Lakshmi Eswari, Scientist 'G' and Centre Head of C-DAC Hyderabad, began the training programme by discussing the evolving cyber threat landscape. She stressed the crucial role of SSDLC practices in mitigating these risks and welcomed all participants.

Shri. N Satyanarayana, Scientist 'E', C-DAC Hyderabad and Dr Amit K Dhar, Asst Professor, IIT Bhilai briefed the participants about the training programme, course requirements and mode of conduction along with certification criteria.

The resource persons from C-DAC Hyderabad Ms. R Swathi, Sr. Project Engineer, Ms. Ramya Chitra T P R, Sr. Project Engineer, Shri. V Harish, Project Engineer, Shri. N Satyanarayana and Dr Amit K Dhar, IIT Bhilai, facilitated an immersive learning experience by providing in-depth, hands-on training on security practices at each stage of the Software Development Lifecycle. This included a practical case study designed as part of the coursework to reinforce learning.

Shri. Mutyala Rao, Security Architect from Bosch Global Software Services, delivered a concluding webinar that focused on organizational readiness for implementing Secure Software Development Lifecycle practices. Shri. Rao highlighted crucial aspects such as relevant standards, the roles of different stakeholders, and prevalent industry practices.

On the final day, the training programme concluded with a session where participants were invited to share their valuable feedback. Participants expressed their appreciation for the comprehensive training, the excellent arrangements, and the insightful topics covered. Dr. P.R. Lakshmi Eswari, Centre Head of C-DAC Hyderabad, acknowledged the participants' enthusiastic engagement throughout the course and extended her best wishes for the upcoming certification exam. Emphasizing the importance of secure software development in India, she encouraged participants to advocate for this initiative within their organizations and among their professional networks.
