C-DAC Noida, under the MeitY-sponsored initiative, organized a one-day workshop on "Data Privacy & Authenticity in Cyber Space" on March 21st, 2025, at CSIR-CSIO, Chandigarh. The workshop focused on critical topics, including Digital Personal and Data Protection (DPDP), Social Media Platform Access & Action, Fake News, and Data Authenticity & Privacy.

The event was inaugurated by Dr.Satish Kumar, Chief Scientist& Director(In-Charge), CSIR-CSIO, Chandigarh, Shri. Debjit Kar, Scientist E, MeitY along with Shri.V.K.Sharma, Scientist G, C-DAC and Shri.Surender Singh Saini, Senior Principal Scientist, CSIR-CSIO, Chandigarh. They emphasized the significance of data privacy and Government policies to ensure cybersecurity.

The workshop was attended by 120 eager participantsincluding Government officials, students and researchers from esteemed institutions, including Indo Swiss Training Centre (ISTC-CSIO), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory (TBRL-DRDO), Punjab State Council for Science and Technology (PSCST).

Key technical sessions were delivered on topics like Promoting Safe Practices on Social Media Platforms, Data Security, Fake News Issues, Challenges & Safe Practices, and the DPDP Act by experts from C-DAC Noida, MeitY, and IKIGAI Law. These sessions were taken by experts & C-DAC officials namely Ms Pallavi Sondhi, legal expert from IKIGAI Laws, Dr. Mary Jacintha, Scientist F, Dr. Lakshmi Kalyani, Scientist F, Shri. Vivek Arya, Project Engineer and Shri. Shubham Tripathi, Cyber Security Engineer from C-DAC Noida. The event was coordinated by Shri. Ashish Gautam, Project Engineer and Ms.Riya Chechi, Project Assistant.

The workshop provided valuable insights and practical solutions to combat cyber threats, and dealing with issues like Fake News and Data Privacy, receiving commendations from participants for its relevance and impact.
