Workshops Under the Hindi Pakhwada Initiative

On the occasion of Hindi Pakhwada, the Multilingual Technology Group (MTG) of C-DAC Pune organized a series of workshops across various colleges in Pune under the guidance of Ms. Lenali Singh, Scientist F & Programme Director, MTG, and through the initiative and coordination of Ms. Shraddha Kalele, Principal Technical Officer-I, Shri. Prashant Chaudhary, Scientist E, and Dr. Dhananjay Zalte - Consultant & Computational Linguist.

The primary objective of these workshops was to promote the use and enrichment of the Hindi language among teachers and students, and to encourage its practical application in the field of technology.

  1. S.N.D.T. College of Arts and Commerce for Women, Pune: On September29th, 2025, a "Machine Translation Workshop" was organized as part of the Hindi Fortnight celebrations. Designated members of the MTG delivered an insightful session on "C-DAC's Contribution to the Development of Indian Languages."Live demonstrations of C-DAC Pune's Machine Translation systems were presented, giving participants a first-hand experience of how these systems function. Additionally, hands-on training was provided to students and faculty on operating and effectively using these translation tools.
  2. Modern College of Arts, Science and Commerce (Women), Shivajinagar, Pune: On September30th, 2025, as part of the closing ceremony of Hindi Month, a workshop on "Various Language Tools" was conducted. The MTG team provided detailed insights into C-DAC's efforts in developing multilingual technologies and tools for Indian languages. During the session, participants observed live demonstrations of C-DAC's language technology systems and received practical training, enabling them to gain a deeper understanding of the applications of language technology.

These workshops not only highlighted the relevance of Hindi in the modern technological landscape but also sparked a new enthusiasm among students and teachers to explore and utilize Natural Language Processing (NLP) tools.

This initiative by the Multilingual Technology Group (MTG), C-DAC Pune, represents a significant academic and educational effort aimed at promoting the Hindi language, empowering technology-based learning, and strengthening the bridge between language and technology.
