Pune is monsoon ready with C-DAC technology to alert the administration
The technology will enable the facility to calculate how much water has flowed in rivers due to rainfall
The monsoons are around the corner, and the town is also all set to tackle if any mishap happens in the city during the season. With the help of state-of-art technology, C-DAC, a machine will be installed that will alert Punekars about the water logged in the vicinity of the city.
Recently, Home Minister Amit Shah announced a project of Rs 2500 crores that will help the seven most populated cities of the country to tackle the flood situations in respective states and towns. Under this project, Pune City will receive funding of Rs 250 crores by 2025.
In April, the National Disaster Management Committee declared 149 black spots that must be revamped for flood or water management. Under this project, the construction of culverts, rainwater drainage system, deepening of drainage, and diversion of water flowing from hills will be done. At the same time, a plan will be set up to get accurate weather forecasts.
With the help of C-DAC technology, it will be easier to monitor the dam catchment area and other areas. The technology will enable the facility to calculate how much water has flowed in rivers due to rainfall. Also, the cumulative effect of releasing water from the dam will be available.
