Echo Sounder for River Reconnaissance
Echo Sounder for River Reconnaissance is an indigenously designed and developedMIL-qualified equipment for measurement of water depth, classification of bottom layer, and measurement of layer thickness for Armored Engineer Reconnaissance Vehicle ofthe Indian Army. It can classify the bottom layer as Rock, Sand, Clay, Mud, and Silt. It hasbeen integrated with the Indian Army's AERV tank to calculate the bearing strength of the bottom for construction of bridges across rivers/canals.
Use Cases
This equipment works on the principle of Ultrasonic signal transmission and reception. This uses a single ultrasonic transducer of 33KHz. It can measure water depth up to 20 meters and layer thickness up to 150cm.
