PMGSY (Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana - Prime Minister's Rural Road Programme) was launched by the Govt. of India to provide road connectivity to unconnected rural habitations as part of a poverty reduction scheme.
GIS enabled Road Information Management & Monitoring System (GRIMMS) to provide GIS interface to the Online Monitoring and Management System (OMMS) and manage various activities under 'Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY)'.

- The system uses data from heterogeneous databases. It has been designed to have a live link with external database (OMMS, developed and implemented before the GIS project was conceived). Data updates happen through the MIS system (OMMS), and is reflected in GRIMMS Web dynamically.
