About the Programmes:

In this present competitive environment, variety of career options are available based on one's skills and qualifications. In India, Government has taken steps for creating awareness and promoting start-ups in the technology field. For young potential entrepreneurs, numerous self-employment opportunities exist in the technology domain.

To promote Entrepreneurship Development in the field of Emerging Technologies, C-DAC Mohali is conducting Training Programmes on Entrepreneurship for S&T candidates that are sponsored by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.

In these Entrepreneurship programmes, the target group primarily, the potential entrepreneurs, having degree/diploma (three years) in S&T are trained through a structured training programme of the specified duration. The WED programmes provide class room training on all fundamental aspects of entrepreneurship, motivation, and management areas. The TEDPs involve technology-oriented training in the specific technology areas besides the sessions on entrepreneurial inputs. The other main topics include Entrepreneurship concepts, Self- Employment opportunities, Business options in IT, personality development, communication skills and market survey techniques etc. The detailed programme schedule for EDPs is shared at the time of commencement of the programme to the enrolled participants.

Programme Objective:

Women Entrepreneurship Development Programme (WEDP) aims at training the S&T graduates and diploma holders in the essentials of conceiving, planning, initiating and launching an economic activity or a startup/enterprise.

TEDP is a structured physical class based & technology-oriented training programme designed to motivate and develop entrepreneurs in specific Products/ technologies / processes developed by CSIR labs, R&D institutions, universities etc.

Eligibility criterion:

Degree in any branch of Science/Engg./Technology or Diploma of at least 3 years in any branch from Govt. recognized institution.

No. of Seats: 25-30

Methodology:

There will be four sessions per day and content will be delivered through lectures/ presentations/case studies as well as interactive sessions. Apart from C-DAC faculty, Guest Speakers would include Eminent Experts & practicing entrepreneurs. Institutional visits are also organized as a part of the program.

*Note: The applications received from the candidates by the application due date shall be scrutinized as per DST criterion of eligibility and call letter for joining the program shall be sent through e-mail. The participants are selected through application screening. (If number of applications is more, then Written Test/ Personal Interview may be conducted which will be informed through email/sms). If a candidate applies for multiple programmes, he/she will be considered for one programme only. Decision about programme allocation by the centre shall be binding for the candidates. WEDP is for Women candidates only. The rules & regulations of DST governing the programmes shall be followed & will be binding to the candidates.
