C-DAC to launch apps for personal, industrial & military use today

From an android app that helps build a secure cellphone ecosystem and can be downloaded for free from the AppStore to two new products in an indigenous wireless communication network system selected for deployment onboard the naval ships, Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC) will launch multiple products for personal, industry and military use on its 35th foundation day on April 2.

Col A K Nath (retired), director general of C-DAC on Wednesday unveiled CyberMargdarshak, a security handbook that gives extensive knowledge about types of cybercrimes along with the know-how on how to register complaints about such attacks, and a list of documents required along with an easy to navigate chart on various offences, warning signs, sections applicable as per law, the penalty and other information. The handbook is available for download at www.infosecawareness.in

CDAC Hyderabad has developed the M-Kavach 2, an android based mobile device security solution, that helps the users identify security privacy misconfigurations in the devices and further provides advisories related to locking the device, password protection, notification settings to avoid leakage of OTPs etc. It is available for download, free of cost, on AppStores, PR Lakshmi Eshwari, director, CDAC, Hyderabad, said in an online press meet.

CDAC Pune had developed Trinetra, an interconnect of 600 Gbps for its supercomputers. On the foundation day, it will launch the fourth generation in this series called Trinetra A which can be used for weather modeling, molecular modeling etc. C-DAC’s Rudra server, a completely indigenous supercomputing cluster will use the Trinetra-A network as its primary interconnect.

CDAC Thiruvananthapuram had developed TETRA Network, a totally indigenous wireless communication network based on TETRA (Terrestrial Trunked Radio) technology for critical communications. C-DAC.

“Two new products -the Micro TETRA Base Station (MTBS) and the TETRA Line Station (TLS) will be launched on April 2. C-DAC TETRA Network (CTN) finds applications in public safety, disaster management, military & paramilitary communications, railway communication, airports, sea port, transportation, industrial communication and so on,” Nath added.
