Title: C-DAC's 35th Foundation Day marks the launch of innovative products for societal benefits
C-DAC is celebrating its 35th Foundation Day on April 2, 2022 as part of which ingenious developed products and solutions are being launched. The event will have address by eminent personalities. All centers of C-DAC have organized similar engagements.
With its first HPC mission in 1988 and subsequent delivery of PARAM series of supercomputers, C-DAC has been the forerunner of the ICT revolution in India. Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) was established as a Scientific Society under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India. The organization has been forging ahead with the vision to emerge as the premier R&D institution for the design, development and deployment of world class electronics and IT solutions for economic and human advancement which the nation is looking upon to take it through the era of transformation.
As part of the event, the three products for launch include:
- Trinetra - Interconnect of 600 Gbps throughput for Supercomputers. Trinetra-A is the fourth-generation network in this series. The multiple hardware and software components, realize a high bandwidth, low latency, scalable network fabric supporting industry standard programming interfaces. One of the unique features of Trinetra-A is adaptation of 3D torus network topology, allowing for seamless scalability to large scale systems. PARAM Trinetra cluster can be leveraged by various applications including WRF (weather modelling), GROMACS/LAMMPS (molecular modelling), OpenFOAM (CFD) as well as industry standard benchmarking/validation suites such as HPL (High Performance Linpack), IMB (Intel MPI benchmark), etc. C-DAC's Rudra server - A completely indigenous supercomputing cluster shall use Trinetra-A network as primary interconnect.
- TETRA Network - wireless communication network based on TETRA (Terrestrial Trunked Radio) technology for critical communications. C-DAC has a unique distinction of developing a totally indigenous wireless communication network based on TETRA technology. Two new products are now being introduced into the CTN portfolio: the Micro TETRA Base Station (MTBS) and the TETRA Line Station (TLS). The MTBS has been selected for deployment in the prestigious "Helo Deck Communication System (HDCS)" on board Indian Naval ships, executed by our industry partner based on CTN technology. It is also an excellent solution for setting up a TETRA Communication Network in disaster & emergency situations. The TETRA Line Station (TLS) is a perfect replacement for TETRA fixed radio wherever RF coverage is compromised, like offices, below deck rooms in ships and other indoor uses cases. C-DAC TETRA Network (CTN) finds applications in public safety, disaster management, military & paramilitary communications, railway communication, airports, sea port, transportation, Industrial communication and so on.
- M-Kavach 2, an Android based mobile device security solution addressing emerging threats. It helps the users in identifying security & privacy misconfigurations in the devices and further provides advisories related to locking the device, password protection, notification settings to avoid leakage of OTPs etc. M-Kavach 2, with its rich feature set, aids in building a secure mobile ecosystem in the country by making user's devices a better platform for mobile governance, e-commerce, mobile payments etc. The app is available for download on popular playstore & Mobile Seva appstore.
Director General, C-DAC unveiled CYBERMARGDARSHAK a Security handbook that guides against Cyber Offences. The handbook is developed as a part of the Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA) program of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India being implemented by C-DAC. An informative handbook for children and women to protect themselves against possible cyber offences in the cyber world.
In line with Atma Nibhar Bharat initiatives of Government of India, C-DAC has evolved detailed research and development plan in consortia mode along with academic and industry towards indigenous technology development in High Performance Computing & Artificial Intelligence Convergence, Microprocessor & Professional Electronics, Quantum Computing & Communication, Cyber Security & Cyber Forensic.
C-DAC's vision is to enhance and synergize technical efficacies for the betterment and ease of life of citizens and position India at a premium space on the global map. At C-DAC, each employee is committed for achieving the moto of "One Vision, One Goal - Advanced Computing for Human Advancement".
